After the motorcycle has cooled off, lubricate all moving parts
and bearings.
Clean the chain. ( p. 74)
Treat bare metal parts (except for brake discs and exhaust
system) with anti-corrosion materials.
Preserving materials for paints, metal and rubber

Treat all plastic parts and powder-coated parts with a mild
cleaning and care product.

19.2 Checks and maintenance steps for winter operation

If you use the motorcycle in winter, salt can be expected on the roads. You should therefore take pre-
cautions against aggressive road salt.
If the vehicle has been used on salted roads, use cold water for cleaning after riding. Warm water
enhances the corrosive effects of salt.

After EVERY trip on salted roads, thoroughly wash
the cool and installed brake calipers and brake linings
with cold water and dry carefully.
After riding on salted roads, thoroughly wash the vehi-
cle with cold water and dry it well.
Treat the engine, the swingarm, and all other bare or galva-
nized parts (except brake discs) with a wax-based corrosion
inhibitor.

Corrosion inhibitor is not permitted to come in contact
with the brake discs as this would greatly reduce the
braking force.
