This is a Model 825. Replace the System unit backplane in location CB1. See Locations — Model 825
for part number and remove and replace information. Be sure to IPL in SLOW OVERRIDE mode after
the replacement.

6. Is this system a Model 830, SB2 system unit and FC 9074?
v Yes: See Locations — Models 830, SB2 system unit with FC 9074 base I/O tower. Replace the
following FRUs in order one at a time until the problem is resolved. See the Remove and replace
procedures. Be sure to IPL in SLOW OVERRIDE mode after each replacement.
a. Clock card in location M06A in the 830 system unit.
b. JTAG cable
c. Processor regulator card in location M01

ends the procedure.
v No: This is a Model 840, SB3 system unit and FC 9079 base I/O tower. See Locations — Models
840, SB3 system unit with processor tower and FC 9079 base I/O tower. Replace the following
FRUs in order one at a time until the problem is resolved. See the Remove and replace procedures.
Be sure to IPL in SLOW OVERRIDE mode after each replacement.
a. Clock card in location M19 in the 840 system unit
b. JTAG cable
c. Regulator card in location M04 in the 840 system unit
d. Regulator card in location M07 in the 840 system unit
This ends the procedure.

This is a Model 870 or 890 unit with processor and FC 9094 base I/O tower. Replace the following
FRUs in order one at a time until the problem is resolved. See Locations — Models 870 and 890 and
view the FRU locations and failing components table for locations and remove and replace procedure
links. Be sure to IPL in SLOW OVERRIDE mode after each replacement.
a. Card in location M41 in the Model 870 or 890 system unit
b. JTAG cable

The batteries for the IBM
(R)
4758 cryptographic adapter card need to be replaced.
Attention: If you remove any of the batteries without first backing up the power with a fresh battery, the
data in the card’s protected memory could be lost, which would render the 4758 Adapter card useless and
require replacement of the 4758 Adapter card. Because the 4758-023 Adapter card contains 4 batteries,
and the Battery Replacement Kit contains only 2 batteries, DO NOT attempt to remove or replace batteries
unless you have two Battery Replacement Kits (see Type, model, and part number list ). (Individual
