v For FC 5065 and FC 5066 expansion tower, the SPCN card is part of the PCI/SPCN backplane
assembly (see Type, model, and part number list for the part number).
v For FC 5072 and FC 5082, the SPCN card is part of the ACMODUL (see Type, model, and part
number list for part numbers).
v For FC 5073, FC 5077, FC 5083 Base I/O Tower, the SPCN card is part of the ACMODUL (see
Type, model, and part number list for part numbers).
v For FC 5074 and FC 5079 expansion tower, the SPCN card is part of the PCI, SPCN backplane
assembly (see Type, model, and part number list for the part number).
v For the FC 5075 expansion tower, replace the SPCN card. See the FRU locations and failing
components table in Locations — FC 5075 for locations information, part numbers, and directions to
the remove and replace procedures before exchanging the part.
v For FC 5078, FC 0578, choose from the following options (see Locations - FC 5078, 0578
Expansion I/O unit for locations and part number information):
– (With reference code 7610, 7611, 7620, 7621, 7630, 7631, 7640, or 7641) replace one part at a
time:
- Air moving device (AMD) control card
- Tower card
– (Except reference code 7610, 7611, 7620, 7621, 7630, 7631, 7640, 7641) replace the Tower
card.
v For xSeries
(TM)
Server Tower, replace the Integrated xSeries
(TM)
Adapter card. See Locations —
Integrated xSeries
(TM)
Adapter Card (IXA) for locations information, part number, and directions to
the remove and replace procedures before exchanging the part.
Note: For SRC 1xxx-8910 or 8920, ac removal is required to reset the flashing (frame indicating)
LEDs that are located on the TWRCARD.
v For FC 9309 expansion tower, replace the PCC. Refer to the SY44-4934-00 FC 504x Problem
Analysis and Repair and Parts information.
This ends the procedure.
5.
Is the failing SPCN card in a system unit?
v No: Continue with the next step.
v Yes: Replace the following for the system unit that you are working on:
– System Base I/O Tower FC 9074, FC 9079, or FC 8079-001.
– Models 840 processor side (non-dual-line cord) SPCN card
– Models 840/SB3 processor side (dual line cord) SPCN card
For location and part number information of the SPCN card refer to Locations and addresses for the
model you are working on.
This ends the procedure.
6.
The failing SPCN card is in a secondary expansion unit or base I/O unit.
v For FC 5072 and FC 5082, the SPCN card is part of the ACMODUL (see Type, model, and part
number list for part numbers).
v For FC 5073, FC 5077, FC 5083, and FC 9251 Base I/O, the SPCN card is part of the ACMODUL
(see Type, model, and part number list for part numbers).
v For FC 5065, FC 5066, FC 5074, FC 5079, or FC 8079 expansion tower the SPCN card is part of
the PCI, SPCN card assembly. See Type, model, and part number list for part numbers.
v For FC 5078, FC 0578, choose from the following options (see Locations - FC 5078, 0578
Expansion I/O unit for locations and part number information):
– (With reference code 7610, 7611, 7620, 7621, 7630, 7631, 7640, 7641) replace one part at a
time:
