Maintenance
Electrical System
4.1. The charger cable must be connected directly to the mains power. Do not use extension cables.
4.2. Make sure that you use the suitable rated power socket point.
5. Switch on the mains power.
5.1. If the charge cable has an inline residual-current device (RCD), press the on button.
6. The charge indicator light will illuminate to show the status. Refer to Table 13.
7. When charging is complete switch off the mains power and then disconnect the charger cable from the
machine and the charger.
Charge the Machine - Rapid Charger
1. Make the machine safe.
Refer to: Maintenance Position (Excavator End Lowered) (Page 116).
2. Ensure area is clear and rapid charger is in a safe location.
3. Turn off the machine ignition (ensure the fast charger is not plugged into the machine).
4. Connect the rapid charger into the mains power.
4.1. The rapid charger must be connected directly to the mains power. Do not use extension cables.
4.2. Make sure that you use the suitable rated power socket point.
5. Open the battery cover and connect the rapid charger cable to the machine, removing the dust cover.
6. Turn on the machine ignition to position I. Do not crank the engine. Wait the duration specified to allow
the machine to wake up.
Duration: 10s
7. Turn on the rapid charger by turning its dial to the on position.
8. Leave the machine to charge. The on-charge indicator should illuminate red on the rapid charger. If required
turn the machine ignition off and remove the key. For a full charge wait until the end charge indicator
illuminates green on the rapid charger or the charge indicator light on the machine is solid green. Refer
to Figure 110.
9. When charging is complete turn off the rapid charger by turning its dial to the off position. Wait the duration
specified to ensure the charger is off fully.
Duration: 10s
10. Turn off the machine ignition.
11. Disconnect the rapid charger from the mains supply.
12. Disconnect the rapid charger from the machine. Replace the dust cover. Close the battery cover.
13. Neatly store the off-board rapid charge cables.
