. Detach the wiring harness.

– Take off the upper triple clamp with the handlebar and
place to one side.
Info
Cover the components to protect them against dam-
age.
Do not kink the cables or lines.

Remove steering head seal

– Remove the lower triple clamp with steering stem.
– Remove the upper steering head bearing.
11.12 Installing the lower triple clamp

Main work
(All standard models)
– Clean the bearing and sealing elements, check for damage,
and grease.
High viscosity grease ( p. 159)
– Insert the lower triple clamp with the steering stem. Mount
upper steering head bearing.
