5.
When the specific gravity of electrolyte reaches 1.27 to
1.29 charge has
completed.
6.
When exchanging
an
old battery with new one, use a
battery of
equal specification shown
in
"SPECIFICATIONS"
(For non-accessible maintenance-free type batteries.)
Maintenance-free, non-accessible batteries are designed
to
eliminate the need to add water. Yet the volume of
electrolyte above plates may eventually become depleted
due to abnormal conditions such as high heat or improper
regulator setting. Use a voltmeter to check the state
of
charge. (See reference chart below to determine if
charging
is
necessary.)

Direction
for
Storage
1.
When storing the machine for a long period, remove
the battery from the machine, adjust the
electrolyte to
the proper
level and store
in
a dry place out
of
direct
sunlight.
2.
The battery self-discharges while it
is
stored.
Recharge it once every three months
in
hot seasons
and once every six months
in
cold seasons.

.Changing
Engine Oil
A CAUTION
To
avoid
personal
injury:
• Be
sure
to
stop
the engine and remove
the
key
before
changing
the oil.
•
Allow
engine
to
cool
down
sufficiently;
oil
can
be
hot
and
may
cause burns.
[GR2000]
1.
To keep dirt, debris, etc., out of the engine, clean the
area around the
oil fill cap/dipstick before removing
it.
2.
Remove the oil drain plug, the oil fill cap, and the
dipstick.
Be
sure to allow ample time for complete
drainage.
3.
The used oil can
be
drained out more easily if the
engine
is
warm.
4.
Reinstall the drain plug. Make sure it
is
tightened to
13.6 N-m
(10 ft.lb.) torque.
5.
Fill the crankcase, with new
oil
of the proper type, to
the
"F" mark
on
the dipstick. (See "LUBRICANTS"
in
Maintenance section.) Always check the level with the
dipstick before adding more
oil.

6.
To check the oil level. Remove the dipstick, wipe it
clean, insert it and draw it out again. Check to see that
the
oil level
is
between the two marks.
7.
Reinstall the oil fill cap and tighten it securely.
Reinstall
the dipstick.
NOTE:
• To prevent extensive engine wear or damage, always
maintain the proper oil level
in
the crankcase. Never
operate the engine with the
oil level below the "L" mark
or over the
"F" mark
on
the dipstick.
