Oil Clearance between Crank Pin and
Connecting Rod Big End
1. Measure the crank pin O.D. with an outside
micrometer.
2. Tighten the connecting rod screws to the specified
torque (137 to 19.6 N·m, 1.4 to 2.0 kgf·m, 10.1 to
14.5 ft-Ibs).
3. Measure the connecting rod big end I.D. with a
cylinder gauge, and calculate
the oil clearance.
4. If the oil clearance exceeds the allowable limit,
replace the connecting rod and grind the crank
pi n. (Refer to "Correcting Crank Pin")
