UsingtheRescueandRecoveryworkspace
TheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceresidesinaprotected,hiddenareaofyoursolid-statedrivethat
operatesindependentlyfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem.Itenablesyoutoperformrecoveryoperations
evenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperatingsystem.Youcanperformthefollowingrecoveryoperations
fromtheRescueandRecoveryworkspace:
•Rescuefilesfromyoursolid-statedriveorfromabackup
TheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceenablesyoutolocatefilesonyoursolid-statedriveandtransfer
themtoanetworkdriveorotherrecordablemedia,suchasaUSBdeviceoradisc.Thissolutionis
availableevenifyoudidnotbackupyourfilesorifchangesweremadetothefilessinceyourlastbackup
operation.YoualsocanrescueindividualfilesfromaRescueandRecoverybackuplocatedonyourlocal
solid-statedrive,aUSBdevice,oranetworkdrive.
•Restoreyoursolid-statedrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackup
Ifyouhavebackedupyoursolid-statedriveusingtheRescueandRecoveryprogram,youcanrestorethe
solid-statedrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackup,evenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperating
system.
•Restoreyoursolid-statedrivetothefactorydefaultsettings
TheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceenablesyoutorestorethecompletecontentsofyoursolid-state
drivetothefactorydefaultsettings.Ifyouhavemultiplepartitionsonyoursolid-statedrive,youhave
theoptiontorestorethefactorydefaultsettingstotheC:partitionandleavetheotherpartitionsintact.
BecausetheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceoperatesindependentlyfromtheWindowsoperating
system,youcanrestorethefactorydefaultsettingsevenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperating
system.
Attention:Ifyourestorethesolid-statedrivefromaRescueandRecoverybackuporrestorethesolid-state
drivetothefactorydefaultsettings,allfilesontheprimarysolid-statedrivepartition(usuallydriveC:)willbe
deletedintherecoveryprocess.Ifpossible,makecopiesofimportantfiles.Ifyouareunabletostartthe
Windowsoperatingsystem,youcanusetherescuefilesfeatureoftheRescueandRecoveryworkspaceto
copyfilesfromyoursolid-statedrivetoothermedia.
TostarttheRescueandRecoveryworkspace,dothefollowing:
1.Makesurethatthecomputeristurnedoff.
2.RepeatedlypressandreleasetheF11keywhenturningonthecomputer.Whenyouhearbeepsor
seealogoscreen,releasetheF11key.
3.IfyouhavesetaRescueandRecoverypassword,typeyourpasswordwhenprompted.TheRescue
andRecoveryworkspaceopensafterashortdelay.
