Vehicles with hybrid systems generate signi-
cantl
y less noise when stationary and when being
driven than vehicles with combustion engines.
When driving in electric mode, the vehicle may
not be heard by other road users due to the signif-
icantly reduced noise generated.
It is for this reason that the vehicle is equipped
with a sound generator, which serves as an acous-
tic vehicle alerting system (AVAS).

&
DANGER Risk of fatal injury by touching
damaged high-voltage components
Vehicles with a 48 V on-board electrical sys-
t
em contain individual high-voltage compo-
nents. These high-voltage components are
under high voltage.
If you modify component parts of these high-
voltage components or touch damaged com-
ponent parts, you may be electrocuted.
High voltage components may be damaged in
an accident, although the damage may not be
visible.

nent parts of high-voltage components.
#
Never touch damaged component parts
of high-v
oltage components.
#
Never touch component parts of high-
v
oltage components aer an accident.
Vehicles with a 48 V on-board electrical system
cont
ain high voltage components. These compo-
nents are marked with a high voltage label:
All work on high voltage components must be car-
r
ied out at a qualied specialist workshop.
Notes on assembling the number plate on the
fr
ont licence plate holder
*
NOTE Malfunctions and system failures
due to incorrect assembly of the licence
plate on the front licence plate holder
If the licence plate is incorrectly assembled on
the front licence plate holder, sensors, cam-
eras or driving and safety systems may mal-
function or fail.
Observe the following points when assembling
the licence plate on the front licence plate
holder:
#
Assemble the licence plate directly on
t
he licence plate holder without advertis-
ing media or other holders.
#
Assemble the licence plate so that it
does no
t protrude above or to the side of
the licence plate adapter.
