The status of the rear airbag for the le and r
ight
rear seat is displayed aer the self-test via the
REAR SEAT AIR BAG indicator lamps:
R
ON is lit: the rear airbag may deploy during an
accident.
The indicator lamp goes out aer 60 seconds.
R
ON and OFF are o: the rear airbag may
deploy during an accident.
R
OFF is lit: the rear airbag is disabled. It will
then not be deployed in the event of an acci-
dent.
When the REAR SEAT AIR BAG ON indicator lamp
is o, only the REAR SEAT AIR BAG OFF indicator
lamp displays the status of the rear airbag. The
REAR SEAT AIR BAG OFF indicator light may be lit
continuously or o.

Closing the side windows.

Vehicles with sliding sunroof: closing the slid-
ing sunroof.

ehicles with memory function: moving the
front passenger seat to a more favourable seat
position.

Vehicles with memory function in the rear
compartment: moving the outer rear seats to
a more favourable seat position.
R
Vehicles with multicontour seat: increasing the
air pressure in the seat side bolsters of the
seat backrest.

PRE-SAFE
®
Sound: provided that the multime-
dia system is switched on, generating a brief
noise signal to stimulate the innate protective
mechanism of a person's hearing.
