ENGINESHUTDOWN
Beforeshuttingdownanenginethathasreachedoperating
temperature,idletheenginefor2to3minutes,allowingthe
hottestenginecomponentstodissipatesomeoftheirinternal
heat.
Idlingisrecommended,ifanenginehasbeenrunningat
maximumhorsepower.
HD-OBDOVERVIEW
TheHD-OBDsystemusesmanyindividualpre-programmed
“monitors”toensurethevehicleismeetingemissionsstandards.
AnHD-OBDmonitorisastrategytoevaluatetheperformance
ofanemissionsrelatedsystemorcomponent.Allmonitors
aredesignedforexecutioninaprescribedfrequency;some
monitorsruncontinuously,whilesomerunaspecicratio
againstthenumberofdrivecycles.
Theoperatorwillbealertedtoemissionsorothersystem
problemswhentheMalfunctionIndicatorLamp(MIL)illuminates.
WhentheMILilluminates,bringthevehicleinforserviceat
thenextavailableopportunity.TheHD-OBDsystemdoesnot
changethewaythevehicleshouldbedriven,therecommended
drivingstyle,orthewayyouusethevehicle.
RADIATORSHUTTLEENABLE(RSE)
RSEisanoptionalfeaturethatprovidesasignaltoopenorclose
theradiatorshutters.Closingtheshutterswillkeeptheengine
warmduringcoldweatheroperation.
ROADSPEEDLIMITING(RSL)
RSLisanoptionalfeaturethatlimitsthetopvehiclespeedthe
ECMallows.RSLissettooneofthefollowingtwopositions:
•OFF
•Vehiclespeedtobedeterminedbycustomer,uptoa
maximumof204kph(127mph).
TohavetheRSLset,changed,orturnedoff,seeanauthorized
serviceprovider.
