Settings - De-icing
During longer periods of persistent frost, ice may form in the heat exchanger and/or in the heat pump. When this
happens, the system has an automatic de-icing function, to thaw the ice, so that the system can run properly again.
The de-icing function is set in the Settings menu:
• CP/De-icing/Out-temp to de-ice (°C) Indicates at which outdoor temperature the frost protection system
must begin to monitor the unit (factory setting 1°C).
• CP/De-icing/De-icing max. time (min) Maximum interval for de-icing the counterflow heat exchanger
(factory setting: 25 min).
• CP/De-icing/De-icing pause Minimum de-icing interval
(factory setting: 30 min).
• CP/De-icing/De-ice fan speed (%) Extract air ventilator speed during de-icing
(factory setting: 20%).
• CP/De-icing/De-ice fan mode Indicates how the supply air fan must operate during de-icing.
From: Fresh air ventilator OFF
Released: Fresh air ventilator ON (normal setting)
Previous: Air intake fan runs at the same setting as extract air fan.
(Extract air fan runs according to the set volume during de-icing.)
• CP/De-icing/Evaporat.de-iceTime (min) Maximum interval for de-icing the evaporator
(factory setting: 5 min).
• CP/De-icing/T6 hold time (min) (factory setting: 1 min).
• CP/De-icing/Evap. defrost by T6 (factory setting: On).
• CP/De-icing/T6 defrost start T(°C) (factory setting: -2°C).
• CP/De-icing/T6 defrost start T(°C) (factory setting: 6°C).
Settings - Frost protection
Icing-up of heat exchangers and heat pumps can be avoided by installing a preheating element for frost protection.
The Compact P Polar version has a built-in frost protection preheating element.
Pre-heating in the Polar version is activated in the Settings menu:
• CP/Preheater settings/Polar functionality A modulating pre-heating element pulses heat when extracted air
< 2°C (T4).
On: Pre-heating element is enabled
Off: Pre-heating element is disabled
(factory setting: Enabled)
