To see if you’re tuned to a digital or analog channel, press the INFO button. This brings
up the Channel Banner screen, discussed on page 19.
If theChannelSearchbringsupunavailableorblankchannels,youmightwanttogetridof
thesesotheydon’tappearasyouchangechannels.TodothisgotoMain Menu/Setup Menu/
List & Labels.Removingchannelsfromyourchannellistmaybetimeconsuming,soyoumight
wanttodoitlater.Gotopage26fordetailsoneditingyourchannellist.

Watching TV

ZOOM–orZOOM+buttonstochoosedifferentscreenformats.Dependingonthetype
of signalyou’reviewingandhowit’sbeingformatted,adifferentformatmightnotbe
available.TheFormatoptionintheSetupmenualsochangesthescreenformat.The
optionsareNormal, Letterbox, Crop, or Squeeze.Page28hasexamplesof differentscreen
formats.
• TheDIG•ANAbuttonontheremoteswitchesbetweenanalogordigitalchannels.
Analogchannelsaresentin4:3(standard)format.Mostdigitalchannelsaresentina
16:9(widescreen)format.Youmightseegrayorblackbarsatthetopandbottomof
thescreen;itdependsonhowthestationisformattingthevideo.PresstheZOOM–or
ZOOM+buttonsforadifferentformatthatmighteliminatethebars.4:3and16:9arealso
knownasaspectratios.
Note: Digital stations in 4:3 format might not be able to have their format
changed. (You’ll see black or gray bars on the sides of the picture sent as part of the
signal from the broadcaster).
