Fax/Data Mode Using a PC

Connectivity
Fax/data mod.
When the phone is connected to a
PC, you can transmit and receive
faxes and data. Appropriate
software for data/fax
communication must be available on
your PC and there must be a
connection to the phone (for
example, IrDA, page 82).
Fax and data services must be
enabled by the service provider.
Different networks support different
types of fax/data reception. Contact
your service provider for details.
Fax/data mode
Your service provider must provide
you with a number for your
telephone and a separate fax/data
number.
Sending
Start your PC communication
program and enter the required
destination phone number in
the program.
Receive
The call is signaled by a special
ringer and the type of call (fax or
data) is displayed.
Start the communication program in
your PC to receive the fax/data.

Set this function on the phone
before
transmission so that you can switch
from voice mode to fax mode.
While the connection is being
set up, the following soft key is
briefly available:
§Voice/fx§
Switch to Send vce/fax
mode; you may now
send a fax.
Receive
(Only if a special fax or data number
is not available).
Start the required communication
program in your PC and switch on
the function at the phone
during the
call (the PC accepts the connection).
