6.4.2 WEIGHTS AND MOMENTS OF CONTROL SURFACES
After repair and re-painting of control surfaces, weights and rear hinge moments must be checked
and conrmed to be within certied limits. If certied limits are exceeded, the manufacturer
must be contacted.
The Form Control Surfaces Weights and Hinge Moments (Annex D) includes procedures to
determine the weights and moments. Rated values are:

6.4.3 FREE PLAY IN FLIGHT CONTROL SYSTEM
For each control surface a maximum allowable slackness between cockpit control and control
surface is dened. Each control free play is measured at the point used for measurement of the
relevant control deection (Refer to Form Rigging Report). For measuring, the controls are xed
in the cockpit (control stick and ap operation handle).
Allowable free play
Aileron 2.5 mm / 0.1 in
Flaps 2.5 mm / 0.1 in
Elevator 2.5 mm / 0.1 in
The axial play of ailerons/aps and elevator must be limited to a minimum without jamming,
using suitable washers if necessary.
