Using slight pressure, press level sensor
(grass catcher box) (1) downwards. When
doing so, it must move easily and a quiet
"clicking" of the switch must be audible.
After the level sensor is released, it must
automatically return upwards to the initial
position.
● If the level sensor does not move easily
or is dirty, carefully clean it using a
brush – do not use water.
14.4 Checking the safety devices
Checking the brake switch:
● Sit on the driver's seat.
● Install the grass catcher box. (Ö 12.10)
● Stop the engine and allow it to come to
a standstill.
● Disengage the mowing deck. (Ö 8.3)
● Do not actuate the brake pedal or
release the parking brake.
● Turn the ignition key to the "start
engine" position. (Ö 8.1)
The engine cannot be started when the
brake switch is functioning correctly.
Checking the mowing deck switch:
● Sit on the driver's seat.
● Press the brake pedal to the stop and
hold. (Ö 8.9)
● Engage the mowing deck. (Ö 8.3)
● Turn the ignition key to the "start
engine" position. (Ö 8.1)
The engine cannot be started when the
mowing deck switch is functioning
correctly.
Checking the seat switch:
● Sit on the driver's seat.
● Start the engine and allow it to run at
maximum speed. (Ö 12.2), (Ö 8.2)
● Engage the mowing deck. (Ö 8.3)
● Relieve the weight on the driver's seat
by standing up slowly and carefully. Do
not dismount!
The engine will be switched off if the
seat switch is functioning.
Checking the grass catcher box switch:
● Sit on the driver's seat.
● Start the engine and allow it to run at
maximum speed. (Ö 12.2), (Ö 8.2)
● Engage the mowing deck. (Ö 8.3)
● From the driver's seat, tilt (empty) the
grass catcher box upwards using the
grass catcher box emptying lever.
(Ö 12.9)
The engine will be switched off and the
mowing deck disengaged if the grass
catcher box switch is functioning.
Checking the reverse mowing safety
switch:
● Sit on the driver's seat – do not press
the reverse mowing safety switch.
● Start the engine (Ö 12.2) and allow it to
run at maximum speed. (Ö 8.2)
● Engage the mowing deck. (Ö 8.3)
● Select reverse driving direction and
drive off. (Ö 8.5)
If the reverse mowing safety switch is
functioning, the mowing deck will be
disengaged after 1 second.
14.5 Removing the discharge chute
For better cleaning of the discharge chute,
it is possible to remove it without the use of
additional tools.
● Stop the engine. (Ö 12.3)
● Remove the ignition key and keep it in a
safe place.
● Engage the parking brake. (Ö 8.10)
● Remove the grass catcher box.
(Ö 12.10)
Risk of injury!
The safety devices must only be
checked from the driver's seat.
No persons, particularly children, or
animals must be in the vicinity.
Proper functioning of the safety
devices must be checked at least
once a month.
Following longer periods without
use, for low-use machines or after
repairs, always check all safety
devices before using again.
