Measure
the
runout
with
a
dial
gauge.
Replace
the
camshaft
if
the
runout
exceeds
the
limit.

SPROCKET
It
is
very
important
that
each
sprocket
be
positioned
angularly
on
its
camshaft
as
illustrated.
Its
correct
position
is
determined
by
arrow
mark
"3"
(on
INTAKE
sprocket)
or
arrow
marks"
1"
and
"2"
(on
EXHAUST
sprocket)
located
(as
shown)
in
refer-
ence
to
the
notch
CD
in
the
camshaft
right
end.
REASSEMBLY
•
Apply
THREAD
LOCK
SUPER
"1303"
to
the
threads
of
cam
sprocket
bolts,
and
tighten
them
to
the
following
torque
value:
99000-32030:
Thread
lock
super
"1303"
Tightening
torque:
24
-
26
N·m

kg-m,

Ib-ft)
CAM
CHAIN
TENSIOI\lER
The
cam
chain
tensioner
is
maintained
at
the
proper
tension
by
an
automatically
adjusted
tensioner.
Unlock
the
rachet
mechanism
CD,
and
move
the
push
rod
®
in
place
to
see
if
it
slides
smoothly.
If
any
stickiness
is
noted
or
rachet
mechanism
is
faulty,
replace
the
cam
chain
tensioner
assembly
with
a
new
one.
