CYLINDER HEAD, CYLINDER AND PISTON 6-6
CYLINDER REMOVAL
• Remove the cylinder head. (!6-4)
• Remove the cylinder

1 by removing the cylinder base bolt.
NOTE:
If the cylinder does not come off easily, lightly tap it using a plas-
tic hammer.
• Remove the cylinder gasket
î›§
2 and dowel pins.
PISTON AND PISTON RING REMOVAL
• Remove the cylinder. (!6-6)
• Place a clean rag over the cylinder base to prevent the piston
pin circlip
î›§
1 from dropping into the crankcase.
• Remove the piston pin circlip
î›§
1.
• Remove the piston pin
î›§
2 and piston
î›§
3.
• Carefully spread the ring opening with your thumbs and then
push up the opposite side of the ring
î›§
4 to remove it.
• Remove the oil ring in the same procedure.
CAUTION
Do not drop the cam chain into the crankcase.
