CleaningtheHoodScreen
andRadiator
ServiceInterval:Every200hours—Inspectthe
cooling-systemhoses.
Every1,500hours—Replaceanymovinghoses.
Every1,500hours—Flushandreplacethe
cooling-systemuid.
Note:IfthePTOshutsoffduetohighengine
temperature,rstcheckthehoodscreenandradiator
foranexcessivebuildupofdebris.Cleanthesystem
beforeoperatingthemachine.Donotshutoffthe
engineimmediately;allowtheenginetocoolby
runningitwithoutaload.
Cleantheradiatorasfollows:
1.Removethehood.
2.Workingfromthefansideoftheradiator,blow
withlowpressure,172kPa(25psi),compressed
air(donotusewater).Repeatthisstepfrom
thefrontoftheradiatorandagainfromthefan
side.
3.Afterthoroughlycleaningtheradiator,cleanany
debristhatmayhavecollectedinthechannelat
theradiatorbase.
4.Cleanthescreenandinstallthehoodontothe
machine.

Adjusttheservicebrakeswhenthereismorethan25
mm(1inch)offreetravelofthebrakepedalsorwhen
thebrakesdonotworkeffectively.Freetravelisthe
distancethatthebrakepedalmovesbeforeyoufeel
brakingresistance.
Aftertherst10hoursofoperation,youshould
needtoadjustthebrakesonlyafterconsiderable
usethereafter.Youcanperformtheseperiodic
adjustmentswherethebrakecableconnectstothe
bottomofthebrakepedals.Whenthecableisno
longeradjustable,youcanadjustthestarnutonthe
insideofthebrakedrumtomovethebrakeshoes
outward.However,youwillneedtoadjustthebrake
cablesagaintocompensateforthisadjustment.
1.Releasethelockarmfromtheright-brakepedal
sothatbothpedalsoperateindependentofeach
other.
2.Toreducethefreetravelofthebrakepedals,
looseningthefrontjamnutsatthethreadedend
ofthebrakecable(Figure69).
