•Cleangrassanddebrisfromthecuttingunits,
mufers,andenginecompartmenttohelpprevent
res.Cleanupoilorfuelspills.
•Ifthecuttingunitsareinthetransportposition,use
thepositivemechanicallock(ifavailable)before
youleavethemachineunattended.
•Allowtheenginetocoolbeforestoringthemachine
inanyenclosure.
•Removethekeyandshutoffthefuel(ifequipped)
beforestoringortransportingthemachine.
•Neverstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheateroronotherappliances.
•Keepallpartsofthemachineingoodworking
conditionandallhardwaretightened,especially
blade-attachmenthardware.
•Replaceallwornordamageddecals.
PushingorTowingthe
Machine
Inanemergency,youcanmovethemachine
forwardbyactuatingthebypassvalveinthe
variable-displacementhydraulicpumpandpushingor
towingthemachine.
Important:Donotpushortowthemachinefaster
than3to4.8km/h(2to3mph)Ifyoupushortow
atafasterspeed,internaltransmissiondamage
mayoccur.
Thebypassvalvesmustbeopenwheneveryou
pushortowthemachine.
1.Raisetheseatandlocatethebypassvalves,
whicharelocatedbelowthefrontofthefueltank
(Figure70).

2.Rotateeachvalve3counter-clockwiseturnsto
openandallowtheuidtobypassinternally.
Note:Donotopenmorethan3turns.Because
theuidisbypassed,themachinecanbeslowly
movedwithoutdamagingthetransmission.
3.Pushortowthemachine.
4.Finishpushingortowingthemachineandclose
thebypassvalves.Torquethevalveto70N∙m
(52ft-lb).
Important:Ensurethatthebypassvalveis
closedbeforeyoustarttheengine.Running
theenginewithanopenbypassvalvecauses
thetransmissiontooverheat.
Important:Ifyoumustpushortowthemachine
inreverse,bypassthecheckvalveinthe4-wheel
drivemanifold.
Tobypassthecheckvalve,connectahose
assemblytothereversetractionpressuretestport
(locatedonthehydrostat)andontheportlocated
betweenportsM8andP2onthereartraction
manifold(locatedbehindthefronttire).Thehose
assemblyincludes1hose(PartNo.95-8843),2
couplerttings(PartNo.95-0985),and2hydraulic
ttings(PartNo.340-77).
LocatingtheJackingPoints
