4.Checkthebearings,spacer,andinsideofthe
wheelhubforwearandreplaceanydamaged
parts.
5.Toassemblethecasterwheel,pushthebearing
intothewheelhub.
Note:Wheninstallingthebearings,presson
theouterfaceofthebearing.
6.Slidethebearingspacerintothewheelhuband
pushtheotherbearingintotheopenendofthe
wheelhubtocaptivatethebearingspacerinside
thewheelhub.
7.Installthecaster-wheelassemblybetweenthe
casterforkandsecureitinplacewiththebolt
andlocknut.
Replacingthe
Mower-Deck-HingeCovers
Thehingecoverpreventsdebrisfromescapingat
hingepointsbetweenmowerdecks.Ifthecover(s)
becomedamagedorworn,replacethem.

Awornordamagedbladecanbreak,andapieceof
thebladecouldbethrowntowardyouorbystanders,
resultinginseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Inspectthebladeperiodicallyforwearordamage.
Usecarewhencheckingtheblades.Wrapthe
bladesorweargloves,andusecautionwhen
servicingtheblades.Onlyreplaceorsharpenthe
blades;neverstraightenorweldthem.
Onmulti-bladedmachines,takecareasrotating1
bladecancauseotherbladestorotate.
CheckingforaBentBlade
Afterstrikingaforeignobject,inspectthemachine
fordamageandmakerepairsbeforestarting
andoperatingtheequipment.T orqueallofthe
spindle-pulleynutsto176to203N∙m(130to150
ft-lb).
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,raise
themowerdeck,engagetheparkingbrake,put
thetractionpedalinNEUTRAL,putthePTOlever
intheOFFposition,shutofftheengine,and
removetheignitionkey.
Note:Blockthemowerdecktopreventitfrom
accidentallyfalling.
2.Rotatethebladeuntiltheendsfaceforwardand
backwardandmeasurefromtheinsideofthe
mowerdecktothecuttingedgeatthefrontof
theblade(Figure128).
Note:Rememberthisdimension.
