TAMD103A, TAMD122A, TAMD122P-A are in-line,
direct injection, 6-cylinder, 4-stroke marine diesel en-
gines. They are equipped with turbocharger and fitted
with either a heat exchanger for thermostat-regulated
freshwater cooling or connections for keel cooling.
The engines are lubricated by a forced lubrication
system from which an oil pump sends lubricant to all
lubrication points. The pistons are cooled by lubricant
through nozzles located in the cylinder block.
All engines have wet, replaceable cylinder liners.
The exhaust manifold and turbocharger are freshwa-
ter cooled to reduce heat radiation to the engine
room.
The engines are equipped with a seawater cooled
charge air cooler. The charge air cooler lowers the
temperature of the inlet air to the engine after it has
been compressed in the turbocharger. This allows
high power output while keeping combustion and ex-
haust temperatures at a suitable level.
