Internet Fax Overview
If the Internet Fax software key is installed with the optional Fax Kit in the machine, you
can send and receive the scanned data as attachments, via an intranet or the Internet.
This differs from a facsimile that transmits the data via a telephone line.
Information Checklist
Before enabling this feature, make sure that the following items are available or have
been performed.
Item By
An existing operational network utilizing TCP/IP is required. These
procedures are not designed to install a network.
Customer
Obtain and record the following information:
• IP address
• Gateway address
• Subnet mask (for IPv4) / Prefix (for IPv6)
• Host name
Refer to the Glossary for additional information about the Gateway Address
and Subnet mask.
Customer
Set up the mail server and E-mail accounts. Customer
Test the machine to make sure that it is installed fully and functioning
correctly.
