Transmission oil
Make sure the transmission oil is at the speci-
fied level. Add oil as necessary. (See pages
8-68-8.)

8 In order to prevent clutch slippage
(since the transmission oil also lubri-
cates the clutch), do not mix any chem-
ical additives. Do not use oils with a
diesel specification of CD or oils of a
higher quality than specified. In addi-
tion, do not use oils labeled ENERGY
CONSERVING II or higher.
8 Make sure that no foreign material
enters the crankcase.

Chain
Check the general condition of the chain and
check the chain slack before every ride.
Lubricate and adjust the chain as necessary.

Throttle lever
Check to see that the throttle lever operates
correctly. It must open smoothly and spring
back to the idle position when released. Have
a Yamaha dealer repair as necessary for
proper operation.
