NOTICE: Do not use the tilt support
lever or knob when trailering the
boat. The outboard motor could
shake loose from the tilt support and
fall. If the motor cannot be trailered in
the normal running position, use an
additional support device to secure it
in the tilt position. For more detailed
information, see page 75.

Procedure for tilting down (hydro tilt
models)
1. Release the tilt lock lever.
2. Hold the rear of the top cowling with one
hand, tilt the outboard motor up slightly
and pull out the tilt support knob or re-
turn the tilt support lever.
3. Slowly tilt the outboard motor down.
4. Place the tilt lock lever in the lock posi-
tion.

Procedure for tilting down (power
trim and tilt models)
1. Push the power trim and tilt switch “
(up) until the outboard motor is support-
ed by the tilt rod and the tilt support knob
becomes free.
2. Pull out the tilt support knob.
