9. Install the kickstarter lever by in-
stalling the bolt, then tightening the
bolt to the specified torque.
Tightening torque:
Kickstarter bolt:
23 Nm (2.3 m•kgf, 16.6ft•lbf)

Carburetor
The carburetor is an important part of
the engine and its emission control sys-
tem, which requires very sophisticated
adjustment. Therefore, carburetor adjust-
ments should be left to Yamaha dealer,
who has the necessary professional
knowledge and experience.

Checking the throttle cable
free play
The throttle cable free play should mea-
sure 3.0~5.0 mm (0.12~0.2 in) at the
throttle grip. Periodically check the
throttle cable free play and, if necessary,
have a Yamaha dealer adjust it.
