34 Program features
Timed function enables to configure the drive to automatically start and stop the
pump at a desired time on any day of a week. The pump start and stop time can
be defined in the parameters 79.31 Pump start time and 79.32 Pump stop time.
If the actual time is not set by the assistant control panel, the drive displays a
warning and does not start.
Note: The Timed function works only with assistant control panel.
5. Fieldbus A
With the Fieldbus A mode, the drive can be started and stopped with the fieldbus
device. You can define the fieldbus adapter parameters in the parameter group 50
Fieldbus adapter (FBA) and the start/stop command can be provided from the
control bit of the fieldbus device which is connected to the drive.
The speed references are provided by MPPT. For more information on MPPT, see
section MPPT functionality on page 34.
6. Embedded fieldbus
With the Embedded fieldbus mode, the drive can be started and stopped with the
embedded fieldbus. You can define the fieldbus adapter parameters in the
parameter group 58 Embedded fieldbus and the start/stop command can be
provided from the control bit of the fieldbus device which is connected to the drive.
The speed reference are provided by MPPT. For more information on MPPT, see
section MPPT functionality on page 34.

MPPT functionality
The Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) control program enables the motor to
operate at maximum power with the available DC voltage (PV cell voltage) and
adjusts the speed reference of the drive based on the available DC voltage from the
solar panels.
Some of the other features of MPPT program are:
• Monitors the DC voltage continuously.
• Controls sudden variation in DC voltage and avoids sudden change in motor
speed.
• Reduces speed whenever the DC voltage decreases.
• Avoids continuous start/stop of the motor in auto mode, if the drives fails to start at
the minimum voltage set.
