4.3 Fuels and lubricants
4.3.1 Operating fluids, general
DANGER:
Fuels are harmful to health. They contain toxic and corrosive ingredients.
DANGER:
Fuels are highly comBUStible.
DANGER:
To avoid injury to yourself and others, please observe the following instructions:
- Do not breath in fumes. To avoid poisoning, always ensure that enclosed spaces are
adequately ventilated.
- Ensure that fuel does not come into contact with skin, eyes or clothing. If contact does
occur, clean the affected areas of skin with soap and water to avoid chemical burns and
other injuries.
- Fire, naked lights and smoking are prohibited when handling fuels as they are highly
comBUStible.
- Observe usage and warning signs on containers.
NOTE:
If the vehicle is filled from barrels or canisters, filter the fuel before filling. This prevents contaminated fuel
from causing faults in the fuel system.
NOTE:
Improper handling can be harmful to the environment.
Do not let fuel enter the drainage system, surface water, ground water or the ground.
