2.7.1 Check V-belt
Check poly-V belt
WARNING:
Serious injury caused by parts that have moved: When working or standing close to
rotating drive shafts, parts that have been moved or tossed around may cause crushing,
cutting and impact injuries. Switch off the engine before removing and/or refitting the
transmission shaft and before cleaning, maintenance and repair work on PTO devices.
Wait until the PTO device has come to a complete stop. During the entire process of
removing and refitting the transmission shaft, ensure that there is no one, especially
children, in the cab.
Procedure
1.
Remove covering.
2.
Check the poly-V belt (see arrow) for cracks,
oil spills, signs of overheating and wear.
NOTE:
The poly-V belt has an automatic belt
tensioner.
3.
Always replace any damaged belts.
NOTE:
The tension pulley must be replaced every
time the poly V-belt is replaced.
