PowerFlex 527 AC Drive Specifications
Signal and Control Wire Types
Recommendations are for 50 °C ambient temperature.
75 °C wire must be used for 60 °C ambient temperature.
90 °C wire must be used for 70 °C ambient temperature.
(1) Stranded or solid wire.
(2) If the wires are short and contained within a cabinet which has no sensitive circuits, the use of shielded wire may not be necessary, but is always recommended.
Maximum Control Wire Recommendation
Do not exceed control wiring length of 30 m (100 ft). Control signal cable length is highly dependent on electrical
environment and installation practices. To improve noise immunity, the I/O terminal Common may be connected to
ground terminal/protective earth. When using the embedded Ethernet ports, the I/O terminal C1 or C2 should be
connected to a clean ground.
(1) Maximum/minimum sizes that the terminal block will accept – these are not recommendations.
Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC)

programmable electronic control systems.
EN 60204-1:2006+A1:2009 – Safety of machinery – Electrical equipment of machines - Part 1: General
requirements.
EN 61800-5-2:2007 – Adjustable speed electrical power drive systems - Part 5-2: Safety requirement – Functional.
