10.2 Inspection
In order for the axial piston unit tobereliable and long-lasting, BoschRexroth
recommends inspecting the hydraulic system and axial piston unit ona regular basis,
and documenting and archiving the following operating conditions:
Table 14: Inspection schedule
Tasks tobeperformed Interval
Hydraulic
system
Check hydraulic fluid level inthe reservoir. daily
Check the operating temperature under comparable
load condition atthedrain port and inthe reservoir.
weekly
Conduct hydraulic fluid analysis: Viscosity, aging and
contamination
Yearly orevery 2000
operating hours
(whichever occurs first)
Check filter.
The replacement interval may vary depending onthe
degr
ee ofcont
amination ofthehydraulic fluid. We
recommend using acontamination indicator.
Yearly orevery 1000
operating hours
(whichever occurs first)
Axial piston unit Check axial piston unit for leakage.
Early detection ofhydraulic fluid loss can help tofind
faults ont
he machine/system and rectify them. This
iswhy BoschRexroth recommends always keeping
the axial piston unit and system clean.
daily
Check axial piston unit for unusual noise
development.
daily
Check mounting elements for tight seating.
All fasteners have tobechecked when the hydraulic
sys
tem isswitched off, depressurized and cooled
down.

10.3 Maintenance
The axial piston unit islow-maintenance when used asintended.
The service life oftheaxial piston unit isheavily dependent onthe quality
ofthehydraulic fluid. This iswhy we recommend changing the hydraulic fluid atleast
once per year orevery 2000 operating hours (whichever occurs first), orhaving
itanalyzed bythehydraulic fluid manufacturer oralaboratory todetermine its
suitability for further use.
The service life oftheaxial piston unit islimited tothe service life ofthebearings
used. You can ask your local contact person about service life based onload cycle.
You can find their contact information at
www.boschrexroth.com/addresses
Based onthese details, amaintenance interval should bedetermined bythesystem
manufacturer for the replacement ofthebearings and included inthe maintenance
schedule ofthehydraulic system.
