3. Peel off the protective Mylar on the thermal pad.
4. Remove the standoff nut (M2) from the M.2 slot (2280) and place it on the M.2 slot (2230), at half length, on the system
board.
NOTE: This step applies only if you are replacing a M.2 2280 solid-state drive with a M.2 2230 solid-state drive.
5. Align the notch on the M.2 2230 solid-state drive with the tab on the solid-state drive slot 0 (M.2 PCIE SSD-0) on the
system board.
6. Slide the M.2 2230 solid-state drive into the solid-state drive slot 0 (M.2 PCIE SSD-0) on the system board.
7. Replace the screw (M2x3.5) that secures the M.2 2230 solid-state drive to the system board.

2. Install the 3.5-inch hard drive, if applicable.
