In this mode, the camera sets exposure
automatically. If desired, you can choose
different combinations of shutter speed
and aperture that will produce the same
exposure (program shift).

If the subject is outside the metering range of the cam-
era, the shutter speed and aperture displays will show
ā€œ---ā€. Press the shutter button halfway to measure ex-
posure again.
Program Shift
Rotate the main/sub-command dial to choose the
desired combination of shutter speed and aperture.
The default values can be restored by raising the
flash or turning the camera off. To use program shift,
turn the flash off and select OFF for g EXTERNAL
FLASH. Furthermore, an option other than AUTO
must be selected for U DYNAMIC RANGE and
N ISO.
