Prior to the firmware update the image file to be used is checked.
●
The image file is verified to prevent an unauthorized image from being used.
●
It is checked if the image file has been tampered with.
If the result of the check shows that the image file is not the original one any
longer you can configure an automatic recovery of the image file by using a
golden image. This golden image is used for recovery and overwrites the
tampered firmware image.
During the recovery process of the iRMC S5 firmware image do not power-
of
f/on the server
. The Power-on LED blinks white during firmware recovery.
The detection of a tampered firmware image and its recovery are logged to the
system event log (SEL). The iRMC S5 settings of the firmware remain.
There are two ways to update the golden image:
●
Update the active image and update the golden image implicitly with the
same version.
●
Update the golden image individually to the same version as the active
image.
You can update the golden image using the iRMC S5 web interface or the
Redfish API of the iRMC S5.
After the update of the golden image the iRMC S5 needs to be rebooted.
