4.17.3 How to view messages
If [AUTO DISP MESSAGE] in the [AIS TARGET MENU] is set to [ON] (see
section 4.17.4), the envelope icon on the [AIS message] button, on lower half of the
InstantAccess bar
™
, changes to a blue color to indicate a new, unread message is
stored.
AIS Received Messages list
Received AIS messages are stored in the AIS received message list. The maximum
number of messages that can be stored is as follows:
• Addressed message: Max.100 messages (a maximum of 20 messages can be pro-
tected.)
• Broadcast message: Max. 100 messages (a maximum of 20 messages can be pro-
tected.)
• AtoN message: Max. 50 messages (message cannot be protected.)
• SART message: Max. 50 messages (message cannot be protected.)
When the memory capacity is reached and a new message is received, the oldest
message (excluded the protected message) is automatically deleted to make room for
the latest. The AtoN messages are deleted after 18 minutes. When the AtoN or SART
is lost, the messages whose MMSI is same with the lost object are automatically de-
leted.
You can access the received messages from the AIS received message list, do as fol-
lows:
1. Open the menu.
2. Select [5 TT•AIS].
3. Select [5 AIS].
4. Select [4 SHOW RECEIVED MSGS].
