5.2 MASTER REF menu
The MASTER REF menu contains parameters for setting the data of the physical master (encoder) and of the
virtual master.
The configuration diagram of the reference Master is shown in the chapter āCONTROL DIAGRAMSā Figure
24. Master Ref, Figure 25. Virtual Encoder and Figure 26. Fast Link encoder.
5.3 Physical Master (encoder)
The encoder can be transmitted to the slaves by using encoder input and repetition cards or via Fast Link
communication bus.
5.3.1 Encoder input and repetition cards
The encoder card for master and slave inverters can be chosen based on the following table:
Incremental digital encoder, 2 freezes, repetition
2 incremental digital encoders, 2 freezes (channel 1), repetition (channel 1)
Sinus incremental encoder + Absolute SinCos, 2 freeze, repetition
Sinus incremental encoder, 2 freezes, repetition
Sinus incremental encoder + Absolute Endat, SSI, 2 freezes, repetition
EXP-HIP-I1R1F2-ADV Sinus incremental encoder + Absolute Hiperface, SSI, 2 freezes, repetition
Resolver, repetition
EXP-ASC-I1R1F2-ADV SinCos absolute encoder, 2 freezes, repetition
5.3.2 Fast Link communication interface
Fast Link is a fast synchronous communication bus that can exchange data among 16 participants, one of
which is defined as master.
The optional EXP-FL-XCAN-ADV Fast Link card is the communication interface for ADV200. See the specific
manual for information on installing and parameterizing the optional card.
The fiber optics connection of the physical support is ring type, and allows both unidirectional and bi-directional
data exchange. The ELS application uses only unidirectional exchange, so the ring does not have to be
closed.
