User Guide Electrical Line Shaft for ADV200 Page 33 of 72
5.11 HOMING Menu
The application provides the possibility of running a zero position search: Zero User Positioncan be used for
the initial mechanical phasing of each slave shaft before its Engage.
The position search can be run on-site by an external qualifier (home sensor) connected to a digital input
and/or motor encoder index.
At the end of the Homing procedure, the current shaft position shows the position specified in the relative
Offset parameter (the offset parameter is always active).
The Offset parameter is used when, for constructive reasons, the Zero User Positiondoes not coincide with
Home Position. See also paragraph 5.13.1 First positioning after Homing.
Home found condition can be seen on the relative monitor variable.
If the motor is fit with a Resolver or SinCos 2 track encoder, the device index is simulated via FW.
Running or not running the Homing function does not affect operation of the electric line shaft and all
of its functions.
5.11.1 Homing with encoder index only
Figure 10. Zero search with encoder index
When the drive is enabled it receives the Homing command (see Els Home src programming), the motor
starts in the direction shown in Els Home Dir with the speed reference set in Els Home Fine Speed.
The motor stops at the first encoder index detected and assumes this position as zero position (Home Position
coincides with Zero User Position).
The actual position value is shown in parameter Els Act Position on the POSITIONING menu.
If parameter Els Home Offset is programmed with a value other than 0 (Home Position not coinciding with
Zero User Position), at the end of the Homing procedure the actual position corresponds to the programmed
value.
Home found condition is shown on the relative monitor variable Els Home Found mon.
