DISASSEMBLY

Remove the following:

propeller

propeller shaft holder
(P. 4-3).

gear case

gear for wear or damage, replace if necessary.

Measure the
O.D.
of the vertical shaft at the needle bear-
ing section. If the measurement is lower than the service
limit, replace the vertical shaft and check the needle
bearing in the gear case
(P. 4-13).
