REVERSING THE
OUTBOARD MOTOR
Important Safety Precautions
• Before rotating the outboard motor
(from either forward to reverse or
from reverse to forward) reduce the
engine speed to SLOW, or the boat
could capsize.
• When operating in reverse, proceed
with caution to
avoid hitting any
underwater obstructions with the
propeller.
1. Move the throttle grip to the
SLOW position and hold
it there by
turning the throttle grip friction
knob clockwise.
