Installalion of Options should be performed by qu alified service
personnel
only.
1. Remove the AC power cord.
2. Remove the instrument top cover. For Model 5315A , Ihis requires removal of the four screws
accessible from cabinet bott om . F or Model 5315B, loosen the single screw on the top ce nter of
the rear
panel.
3. In sert the A7 TCXO assembl y, wit h compone nts fa cing to the outs id e of the instrument, i nlo 11
of the A1 Motherboard assembly.
4. Secure the assembly by insta lli ng the two pozidrive screws, through l-brackets on A7, to the
Motherboard.
5. Slide t he motherboard INT / E XT switch 53, to the EXT pOSition (toward rear of inSifumenl).
6. Replace the top cover. This completes the installation of Option 001.

OPTION 002, BATIERY PACK WITH A6 CH ARGER ASSEMBLY

NOTE
Option 002 may be in stall ed only in Model 53 1 SA. Installation should be
performed by qua li fied service personnel only.
1. Remove the AC power cord.
2. Remove the ins trum ent top cover by removing the four screws accessible from the cabinet
bottom .
3. Po sition the bracket assembly, with A6 and BTl insta ll ed, onto the six mounting posts on the
inside top cover, placing the charger toward the front and the battery toward the rear of the
instrument. Secure with six press- on retainers supplied.
4. Conne ct J1 of the A6 Charger assemby 14 to the Al Motherbo ard as sembly using cable
harness supplied
NOTE
Co nnecto rs on this harness are polarized; do not force the connecto r.
5. Repla ce the top cover. Th is completes the installation of Option 002.
