5-20. OPTION 002 BATTERY CHARGER ADJUSTMENT
1. Di sco n nect power cable f ro m 531 5A.
2. Disconnect batt e ry from A6 (05315-60006) battery charger assembly bo ard.
3. Conned ca ble (P IN 05315-60101 ) bet wee n A 1J 3 on motherboard and A6 Jl battery
charger assembly board .
4. Connec t DVM positive l ead to A6W2 ( red wire ) and ne gative l ead to a gro un d on battery
charger assembly board (e.g., TP3 ).
5. Conned po we r cable to 5315A; set S TB Y/ ON switch to S TS Y position.
6. Adjust A 6R 20 fully ccw.
7. Hold swi tch S3 d ow n wh i le adjusting A6R19 until DVM reads 7.71 vo lts; adjus t A6R20 until
charging LED (CHG) turns on. Release swi tch 53.
8. Con n ec t D VM negati ve l ead to A6W3 (black wire ); sh ort TP3 to TP 7. H old switch S3 d ow n

ad just in g A6 R19 un t il DVM reads 6 .00 V.
9. Set 5 TS Y ION switch to the ON position. Ho ld sw it ch S2 do wn; DVM should read
2.0 +0.4/ -0 .1 volts. R emo ve all s hort s and turn i ns t rume nt off.
10. Disconnect a ll test equ i pment.
