getuuid The getuuid utility retrieves the universally unique
identifier (UUID) used for identifying a storage device
or a single partition.
hplpcfg The HP Emulex HBA configuration utility.
hpqlarep The HP QLogic HBA configuration utility.
hpshowdisk The hpshowdisk utility gathers information from
storage devices, such as disk size, device node,
controller type, target logical unit number (LUN),
HBA world wide identification number (WWID), and
target port WWN for disks in a SAN environment.
hwquery The hardware query utility reads the file created
by the hardware discovery utility and provides this
data in a usable form.
ifhw The if hardware utility makes user process
decisions based on data from the file created by the
hardware discovery utility.
parted The parted utility creates, destroys, resizes, checks,
and copies partitions.
hpsetacpi The hpsetacpi utility sets the acpi mode for cellular
systems.
sstkencrypt The sstkencrypt utility hides the repository
password, which is set in elilo.conf, over a
Windows network. There is a Linux (ia64) and
Windows version of this utility.
Setting permissions for repository access
To increase security, write permission must be restricted for directories in the SSTK repository.
This also guarantees the integrity of files which should have read-only permission.
The repository structure has changed with SSTK 2.7, moving the read-only drivers and
software directories to the root of the repository to enhance security and simplify configuring
permissions on Windows. The new folder structure allows users to have read-write permissions
for only the data_files directory. All other directories must be set to read-only. SSTK checks
the user permissions after the repository is mounted and logs a warning message if permissions
are not set correctly. Table 2-1 indicates appropriate permissions for each SSTK directory.
