Data Preparation
To configure MAC address authentication, you need the following data.

1 Interface that will be enabled with MAC address authentication
2 (Optional) Domain for MAC address authentication
3 (Optional) Maximum number of access users who use MAC address authentication
5.4.2 Enabling Global MAC Address Authentication
The configurations of MAC address authentication take effect only after global MAC address
authentication is enabled.
Procedure
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
Step 2 Run:
mac-authen
Global MAC address authentication is enabled.
By default, global MAC address authentication is disabled.

5.4.3 Enabling MAC Address Authentication on an Interface
To perform MAC address authentication for a user, enable MAC address authentication on the
interface connected to the user.
Context
CAUTION
MAC address authentication cannot be used together with 802.1x authentication on the same
interface.
MAC address authentication can be enabled in the system view or interface view.
