With the DR function, the transceiver has three ways to communicate, as shown below.

•UsingtherepeaterlistisrequiredtousetheDR
function. (p. 68)
•Beforeoperatingintheduplexmode,besureto
check whether the repeater is busy, or not. If the
repeater is busy, wait until it is clear, or ask for a
“break” using a method acceptable to your local
procedures.
•ThetransceiverhasaTime-OutTimerfunction
for DV operation. The timer limits a continuous
transmission. Warning beeps will sound approx-
imately 30 seconds before time-out and then
again immediately before time-out.

To call through your local area (access) repeater.
To call through your local area (access) repeater, repeater gateway and
