Configuring the Unit
4.6.5 Connect Mode
Connect Mode defines how the unit makes a connection, and how it reacts to incoming
connections over the network. Enter Connect Mode options in hexadecimal notation.
Note: If you do not want to convert the binary numbers to hexadecimals yourself, look up
the values in Table 29 - Binary to Hexadecimal Conversion Table on page 10-1.

INCOMING CONNECTION:
Never Accept Incoming: rejects all external connection attempts.
Accept with DTR Active: accept external connection requests only when the DTR input is
asserted. Cannot be used with Modem Mode.
Always Accept: accept any incoming connection when a connection is not already
established. This is the default setting.
RESPONSE:
Character Response: a single character is transmitted to the serial port when there is a
change in connection state: C = connected, D = disconnected, N = host unreachable. This
option is overridden when the Active Start Modem Mode or Active Start Host List is in effect.
Default setting is Nothing (quiet).
