6 Intended use
Birthing bed is designed to be used by mothers-to-be for vaginal delivery. The birthing bed is de-
signed to enable different birthing positions in all delivery birthing stages including postpartum pe-
riod.
6.1 User population
Pregnant women during ambulant and stationary pregnancy check-ups and/or in all labor
stages and her companions.
Caregivers and hospital staff (midwives, labor and delivery nurses, doctors, and technical
personnel, transport personnel, cleaning personnel, interns and birth professional students)
Maintenance personnel
6.2 Contraindications
Contraindication is the use of the birthing bed for elective (planned) Caesarean sections. The
birthing bed cannot be used to leave the newborn on unattended.
The birthing bed cannot be used as a crib for the newborn.
The birthing bed is not intended for use as a general hospital bed.
6.3 Operator
Caregiver
Patient (based on individual patient status assessment by caregiver the patient can utilize
dedicated device functions)
