NOTE Damag
e to components of the vehi-
cle body or chassis due to tted snow
chains
If you t sno
w chains to the front wheels of
4MATIC vehicles, you may damage compo-
nents of the vehicle body or chassis.
#
Only t sno
w chains to the rear wheels
of 4MATIC vehicles.
Observe the following notes when using snow
c

R
Snow chains are only permissible for certain
wheel/tyre combinations. You can obtain
information about this from a Mercedes-Benz
Service Centre.
R
For safety reasons, only use snow chains that
have been specically approved for your vehi-
cle by Mercedes-Benz, or snow chains with
the same quality standard.
R
Comply with the installation instructions of the
snow chain manufacturer.
R
If snow chains are tted, the maximum per-
missible speed is 50 km/h.
R
V

Active Parking Assist when snow chains are
tted.
R
Vehicles with AIRMATIC: if snow chains are t-

%
You can permanently limit the maximum

Activate or deactivate Snow chain mode.
When the function is active, the vehicle behaves
as if sno
w chains were mounted. For example, the
maximum steering movement of the rear wheels
is limited and the turning circle is thus increased.
Additionally, parts of the driving and driving safety
systems are not available when snow chain mode
is active.

R
The tyres can burst.
R
The tyres can wear excessively and/or
unevenly.
R
The driving characteristics as well as the
steering and braking characteristics may
be greatly impaired.
