Notes on tampering with the engine electronics
*
NOTE Pr
emature wear through improper
maintenance
Improper maintenance may cause vehicle
com
ponents to wear more quickly and the
vehicle's operating permit may be invalidated.
#
Always have work on the engine elec-
tr
onics and related components carried
out at a qualied specialist workshop.

&
WARNING Risk of accident due t
o
improper work on two-way radios
If two-way radios are manipulated or r
etrot-
ted incorrectly, the electromagnetic radiation
from the two-way radios can interfere with the
vehicle electronics and jeopardise the operat-
ing safety of the vehicle.
#
You should have all work on electrical
and electr
onic components carried out
at a qualied specialist workshop.
&
WARNING Risk of accident due t
o
improper operation of two-way radios
If you use two-way radios in the vehicle
im
properly, their electromagnetic radiation
can disrupt the vehicle's electronics. This is
the case in the following situations, in particu-
lar:
R
The tw
o-way radio is not connected to an
exterior aerial.
R
The exterior aerial is tted incorrectly or is
not a low-reection aerial.
This could jeopardise the operating safety of
the vehicle.
#
Have the lo
w-reection exterior aerial t-
ted at a qualied specialist workshop.
#
When operating two-way radios in the
v
ehicle, always connect them to the low-
reection exterior aerial.
*
NOTE In
validation of the operating permit
due to failure to comply with the instruc-
tions for installation and use
The operating permit may be invalidated if the
ins
tructions for installation and use of two-way
radios are not observed.
#
Only use approved frequency bands.
#
Observe the maximum permissible out-
put po
wer in these frequency bands.
#
Only use approved aerial positions.
