4.12.1Connect to an internet router
An example of a connection is shown in figure 10. The PowerRouter can be connected to any of the
available ports. The numbers in the drawing are:
1. Internet Router.
2. Connected computers.
3. CAT5e UTP cable.
4. PowerRouter.
5. ADSL, ISDN, or cable connection.
6. Power adapter for the internet router.
4.12.2Connect via a switch to an internet router
An example of a connection is shown in figure 11. The PowerRouter can be connected to any of the
available ports of the switch. The numbers in the drawing are:
1. Internet Router.
2. CAT5e UTP cable.
3. Ethernet switch.
4. PowerRouter.
5. Connected computers.
6. Internet modem.
7. ADSL, ISDN, or cable connection.
8. Power adapter for the internet router.
4.12.3Connect to a wireless access point
An example of a connection is shown in figure 14. The numbers in the drawing are:
1. Internet Router.
2. ADSL, ISDN, or cable connection.
3. Power adapter for the internet router.
4. Wireless access point.
5. CAT5e UTP cable.
6. PowerRouter.
CAUTION
The wireless access point must support wireless client function, and it must have a RJ45 connection.
If in doubt consult your supplier.
The PowerRouter cannot connect to the internet via a proxy server.
