17.Reinstall the brake caliper and install new mounting
fasteners

. Torque caliper mounting fasteners to
specification.
TORQUE
Brake Caliper Mounting Fasteners:
40 ft-lbs (54 N·m)
18.Engage the parking brake. Torque brake disc fastener

to specification.
NOTICE
There are two domed washers
w
on the brake disc
bolt.
TORQUE
Brake Disc Fastener:
40 ft-lbs (54 N·m)
19.Fill-to-spill the chaincase with Polaris Synthetic
Chaincase Lubricant (SCL). Tighten fill plug to
specification.
TORQUE
Chaincase Fill Plug:
4 ft-lbs (6 N·m)
20.If the snowmobile is equipped with electric starter,
reinstall the battery bracket and battery.
21.Reinstall the exhaust resonator.
22.Reinstall the hood and side panels.
CHAINCASE HOUSING REMOVAL
NOTICE
The chaincase housing and right bulkhead support are
one piece and bonded to the chassis. The use of a
propane torch is required to remove the housing from
the chassis.
1. Follow the procedure for chaincase disassembly. The
rear suspension, jackshaft, and driveshaft must be
removed.
2. Remove the right fender panel.
3. Remove the speed sensor fastener

and speed
sensor
w
from the housing.
